Role Assigned: Environment Artist

This was a game project that I was assigned to at the beginning of the Spring Semester 2025. I was assigned the role to be an Environment Artist. I knew that importance of the role, and how crucial it was to make sure that communication was clear. The entire team and I had weekly meetings to ensure that the game we were on top of our work and that we were clear of the game’s direction.
I was assigned to create assets (with provided concepts from concept artists) for the environment and fix/tweak the asset’s models, or textures/color schemes to ensure that the game was consistent and uniform. I also communicated art decisions and inquiries about my assignments with my peers, Team Leads and Directors.
Asset Creations:
Floor Panels

Vent Panels

Fan Blades (They weren’t used):

Fixes & Tweaks:
I was assigned to fix and tweak colors of the pipes and floor panels to keep the level colors consistent and not to provoke any distractions for the player. I had to slightly tweak and recolor the existing model for the grinder floor at the start of the level. It took a lot of revisions and a lot of back and forth communication with leads and directors to get an understanding of what was best game’s vision and direction.

Conclusion: I managed to absorb as much information as I could from the class, which ranged from the experience, advice and interactions from this class. I understood the importance of communication, which is fundamental for a workplace and working with a team in general. I understood that your contribution makes a lot of your effort and to show that your putting your work and passion forward for the project, which I believe I did and also with my best intentions.
Applications Used:
